Ongoing projects

Currently I am working on different projects to investigate how we can design sustainable technologies for people living dementia. A design-driven approach is used to explore the experiences of those living with dementia, and people in their social circle.

Exploring the Design of Sustainable Warm Technology in Residential Dementia Care

Although research in HCI and dementia have shown that person-centred design yields positive results, little is known about how to design sustainable and enriching technologies for residential dementia care. By participatory action research, co-design and piloting in a real-life setting with a multidisciplinary team (PIT), we create new designs for people with dementia.

Exploring the Design of Sustainable Technology to Support Social Health in Dementia Care

The Dementia Dynamics in Design project focuses on the design of sustainable technologies that could improve social health and promote agency and quality of life of community-living people with dementia. As dementia progression is heterogeneous within and between persons with dementia and originates both from the disease and individuals’ characteristics, technology should be designed in a way that enables its continuous adjustments to the changing needs and circumstances

A Create-Health project, funded by ZonMW. A collaboration with TRANZO (scientific centre for Care & Wellbeing), care organisation GGZe, cooperation Slimmer Leven 2020.
